In our regenerative future, our thriving forest ecosystems will provide a much needed supply of lumber to construct our buildings, while creating great jobs for people along the forestry supply chain and playing a vital role in our carbon and water cycles. Over the past few years, a growing number of people and companies have started making major strides towards realizing that vision of a healthy supply chain for regenerative, climate smart wood. Building often from indigenous forestry and land stewardship knowledge and practice, these practitioners are working to create the infrastructure and market transparency we need to ensure that all of our wood is "good wood". Join this half-day summit to hear about new tools, case studies of projects procuring wood in new ways, and share ideas to help accelerate market transformation for this important work. This event is being co-hosted by the Climate Smart Wood Group, a coalition of conservation, scientific, green building and forest sector organizations who share a commitment to offering practical and science-based solutions that help the building sector realize the potential of wood and forests to fight climate change. This summit is sponsored by Zena Forest Products, with additional support from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
