Living Future Accreditation (LFA) is the foundational credential in regenerative design from the International Living Future Institute. This 20-hour, self-paced online program builds expertise in regenerative buildings, healthy materials, and equitable organizations—key pillars of a socially just, culturally rich, and ecologically restorative built environment. Through video lessons, readings, and interactive exercises, you’ll strengthen your leadership skills and learn to advance the practice of regenerative design with Living Future programs like Declare, Just, and the Living Building Challenge and advocate for net-positive solutions and policies.

What You'll Learn
You’ll learn the foundational principles of Living Future philosophy and regenerative design, and how to apply them through Living Future programs to address climate change, promote human health, and advance equity.
Upon completion of this program, you will be able to:
- Understand the imperative of integrating regenerative design principles into the building industry to address climate change, promote human health, and advance equity
- Identify common goals across Living Future Challenges, facilitating the creation of holistic solutions for regenerative buildings, healthy products, and equitable organizations
- Describe the goals, requirements, and benefits of Living Future’s building certification programs, product certification and label programs, and organizational equity label program
- Cite examples of buildings, products, and organizations that have achieved certifications and earned labels for Living Building Challenge, Zero Carbon, Zero Energy, Living Product Challenge, Declare, and Just
- Articulate your role within the Living Future movement and identify opportunities to apply your leadership skills to drive sustainability initiatives and projects

You'll journey through 5 self-paced foundational modules within a flexible format that lets you learn at your own pace. Courses include video lessons, interactive readings, and real-world case studies, while reinforcing your understanding through quizzes and practical exercises.
LFA courses are developed and taught by industry pioneers and thought leaders in regenerative design, healthy materials, and equity in the built environment. LFA Achievement Requirements
Achievement of LFA is accomplished by successfully completing the online, self-paced learning path. No prerequisite courses or knowledge are required. There is no final exam, or maintenance or renewal requirement.
